Little Wise One

Today Hanna asked, "Mom, if you're the adult and I'm the kid, then why do I have to teach you things?"

To which I replied, "Because you are just as wise as me."

Later that day...

"So, little wise one, do you think you could help mama find her wedding ring?"

"Oh yes, your majesty," she replied as she bowed her head. "I've been keeping it in a safe spot in my room for you."

(Thank goodness! I was not about to have to replace my ring AGAIN!)

I Know Why...

We were watching ER yesterday where a woman was in full labour.

"Mom, is that woman ok?"

"I think so sweetie. She's just having a baby."

"I know why she's screamin so much."

"Why Hanna?"

"Because the vagina is a small hole for a big human to come out!"

OY, the things kids know! I am so grateful that Hanna and I have an open relationship to talk about whatever shows up.

A Day of Winter Play

It's so refreshing to dress up and get outside at this time of year. I absolutely love these pics and the rosy cheeks that come with a day of winter play.  (Sorry they are kinda blurry. I think I need to check my camera settings! But they were too cute not to share. Just maybe squint your eyes a bit!)

Roles Reverse

"Mom, I'm so proud of you. You're such a good listener today."

It's true that later on in life, roles reverse, and children soon become the "parents" of their parents. Well, I just have that now! She's a great mirror.

Where's the Tooth Fairy?

"Mom, Dad, the tooth fairy didn't come last night!"

(Oh sh*t!)

"Um, Hanna, I'm not sure the tooth fairy comes on New Year's. She's out celebrating I think."

(Good cover, dad...)

"Celebrating??" asked one very concerned Hanna. "Maybe she'll come tomorrow?"

"She sure will!"

And she did. Tooth #2 earned Hanna some big loot!

Whew, that was close!

A New Year... A New Chapter

Well, yesterday Hanna said she was bored. "Let's make a special sign" I offered. "Ok!" she gleamed. "With my new sparkly glue!"

Ta-dah! For all of you...
