Today Hanna and I had a conversation about listening to each other and helping each other out. When that didn't work, I had another conversation about taking away her Barbie, which then prompted this response from Miss Smarty Pants:
"If you take my Barbie away cuz I'm not listening, what are you going to do with it? Give it away--maybe to Danika? Or throw it in the garbage??"
"Mom, I'm asking you a question. What are you going to do with it?"
(slight pause followed by a resounding nod...)
"I know Mom! I think you should sell it. Then we could buy a new TV so dad doesn't need to keep hitting this one."
NOTE ABOUT OUR TV: It's temperamental and on its way to TV Heaven very soon. But if you hit it on its side, it sees another day of light! Hanna is learning these very important tricks!

That's kind of funny that she's willing to offer up her Barbie as sacrifice to the New TV gods.

Well it worked! Brad is buying a new TV as we speak. Hanna will be so pleased! I'll even spare Barbie!

Hello,
I came across your blog a few months ago and have come back to read it often. I love your stories and your diligence in documenting your life with your daughter is inspiring. I am wondering if you could please email me, I would love to offer you a portrait session for you and your daughter as well as feature you on my blog if you are interested.

Danna, thanks so much for contacting me. I'd be thrilled to have you photograph us. Your work is beautiful. I'm giggling because just last month I was thinking I want to have some professional shots taken of Hanna... somebody who would be willing to photograph her periodically as she grows. (Intentions are powerful!!) I shall email you right after Xmas and we can chat further to see what works.
Thanks again!
Paula
