Conversations on our bike rides always take some interesting turns.
"Mom, I remember when I was just a baby."
"Oh really Hanna? What do you remember?"
"I remember I came out of your tummy and then drank milk from your boobie."
The neighbours chuckled hearing our chat-chit as we rode past their house.
"Actually Hanna, do you remember when I told you that you came from Katie's tummy?"
Hanna, whose little legs had been pedalling like mad, glided for a bit as she processed that thought.
"From Katie's tummy?"
"Yes, Hanna, from Katie's tummy. You remember Katie, right?"
(more pedalling... then more gliding...)
"Oh yeah," she nodded.
(Oh, good, I thought. We've got this story straight.)
"I came from Katie's tummy cuz you were on holidays. Right?"
Um... well, that's one theory. More explanation necessary.

That's hilarious. So, you mean if I get pregnant and go on holidays someone else has to give birth? How come nobody told me this before???

LOL... Women around the world are protesting over this new insight!!!
Funny thing is, I remember this moment distinctly. Sitting in Katie's hospital room, watching her bravely breathe through a contraction while I sat, legs crossed, sipping a Timmie's. I thought to myself, there is something so odd about this. At the time, I felt bad not bearing the pain myself.
Perhaps that's the holiday Hanna remembers...
Little did I know I'd have a lifetime of making up for my share of the work.
It's all good!
