Dear Daughter Contest

I've begun to write my 'Dear Daughter' letter. Wait a minute, did I tell you about this contest? I don't think I did. Go check it out. The deadline is this Friday Nov 30th.

It's an opportunity for all women to express their intimate feelings and thoughts to their 'daughters'. Even if you don't have children, you are still giving birth to something... a project, a dream, some sort of labour of love.

I haven't been inspired to write my letter. How can I capture all that I feel for Hanna in 500-1000 words? I've been rereading this site for inspiration.

I must admit, it's very inspiring. Sometimes I surprise myself with my words. Now, on to writing my letter...

Brrrrr

Okay, so the snow arrived and so did the blistery winter weather.  Hanna's been saying, "brrrrr" a lot as she experiences -15 temperatures. She doesn't understand that choosing short-sleeved t-shirts to wear is not helping matters. So, mama packs a sweater in her bag for daycare just in case.

Luckily, Hanna still loves her mitts and toque. She reminds me of a little snow boarder gal.

I wonder if she'll enjoy the winter sports of skiing and snowboarding when she's older. We'll soon see.

Where's the snow?

I'm all ready... but where 's the snow?
I got new mitts and a toque,
Don't try to put them on for me.
I'll take them off and redo,
just so I can do it myself.
I even learned to put the "s" in snow
so that mama didn't think I was just saying

NO.

So where are you ssssssssnow?

Me waiting. Oh wait a minute...
Mama also taught me to say, "I'm waiting..."

(p.s. she doesn't even know it,
but she's exactly like her mom...)

A Masterpiece Begins

Colouring on paper is highly overrated... doors, windows, walls, floors, mama's computer, or my shirt are all much more interested surfaces. Don't you think? I've begun a masterpiece.

Now to get my hands on the markers in mama's office...

On our toes

When I began this blog, a good friend said, "Wow, this is beautiful but we'll see if you're still updating it in three years from now."

Lately, I recognize that I haven't posted as much. It's not because much isn't happening. Quite the opposite. Hanna is this amazing little girl with a full vocabulary and a sharp little mind that is constantly seeking the next new experience. She has us dancing on our toes, for sure.

Like all things in life, the pace changes and we must change with it. That's what keeps life fresh. So, yes, I'm still updating, maybe just not as often. I hope you continue to follow Hanna's journey and do let us know how you enjoy it.

P.S. Hanna was a ballerina for Halloween. She's still wearing the dress. I think she just mastered 4th position...
