Before we left on our trip to the U.K., I created a Hanna manual for Brad's mom. It came with complete instructions on Hanna's routine, her likes & dislikes... and even a translation key for her words...
cow = cat
guck = stuck
ogi = yogurt
and so on...
But, it seems I returned to a different child. Recently I reread the manual and most of it is now out of date. She has completely different words, cat = cat and cow = cow. She's learning her ABC's, sleeping in the big bed, crawling higher than before and occasionally peeing in the potty. YAY!
Witnessing her life, I"m reminded that the manuals we create for ourselves need to change as we do. There's never a dull moment in life. And we are never at the same exact place twice.
I love this about Hanna... although she sometimes give me a heart attack.
"Hanna, get down from your high chair!!!"
