You know when you're at work and the phone rings...you look at the call display--nobody you recognize. You answer the phone, still doing your work, only half listening to the person on the other end?
I got one of those calls this morning.
But it was "The Call".
"Hi Paula. It's Marlene from the adoption agency. We've been showing your file and there are some birth parents interested in meeting you."
"That's nice," I replied. (I'm still not quite paying attention yet.)
"Can you come meet them?"
"Sure. When?"
"Tomorrow."
"Tomorrow???"
"Yes. We need to move quickly as she's due very soon...."
"How soon?"
"July 15th."
Holy Hanna!$&#*!! (She now has my full attention.)
"Paula, they are a wonderful couple. You will love them."
I phone my husband to see if he can get the day off.
"Um, Brad, do you have a few minutes to chat?"
"Just a minute. I'm out for lunch with the boys."
"OK. Call me back when you have a moment. It's super important."
By this time, I'm in tears. I don't know what to think or feel or do.
All I know is that I feel my life completely shifting.

Congratulations to all 3 of you!!! What a blessing she is. The wonder and beauty will move you in ways you could never imagine. Her name is perfect!
I can hardly wait to meet that little muffin in person.
Take care and rest as much as you can.
