It's not often you see pictures of me on this site. Like most moms, I'm the one taking the pictures (although that is changing as Hanna is a budding photographer!)
But I read this post at Chatting at the Sky (beautiful words...) and realized that it's time to show my face more often. I put this out as a challenge to all others to get out from behind that camera and get in those fabulous pictures with your children.
Please don't wait until <insert your excuse>!
One of the highlights of our trip was Uncle Randy and Mary's wedding. Hanna was so excited to be flowergirl. We practised at home and then in Maui in our first week. And while a little shy at rehearsal, she came through with flying colours.
Mind you, it was so easy to with a bowl of skittles waiting as her bribe... I mean TREAT!
When this is your backdrop, how can the wedding not be perfect?
If you want to see the professional photographer's full wedding pics, go here. They are absolutely stunning! I would highly recommend Natalie Brown Photography if you are in Maui. They were great! (PS don't mind my dress sitting low! Busted the straps on the way to wedding... no time or tools to fix! Oh well!!!)
Our first week's accommodation was ocean front. Just around the corner... BEACH.
Loved, loved, loved hearing the ocean. And how nice it was to sit on our balcony for dinner overlooking the water or enjoy the BBQ area on the green space below. Hanna and I played a lot on that green space. Bare feet of course! She got a kick out of chasing birds (which are much tamer than at home!)
(this pose is called, "Show me your sassy pose!")
We've just returned from two weeks in paradise! Unbelievable... so relaxing and fun! Good weather, food and company! Hanna loved it. I took hundreds of pictures... too many to show you. But I'll share some of the highlights over the next week or so. As you'll see, Hanna adored all the flowers on the island. Even her name in the sand wasn't complete without the finishing touch of a flower.
Today was Hanna's first dance concert. She got all dolled up with hot rollers and stage make-up. Nothing like trying to put eye-liner on a 3 1/2 year old who wants to see what you are doing.
Watching 17 little bumble bees on stage ages 3 and 4 filled me with giggles and tears. It's almost like herding cats -- but way cuter! A proud mama moment.
